This is an exciting opportunity to join the LACCD Build Bond Program and contribute to impactful educational facility projects. As a Project Engineer II - Sustainability , you will manage and oversee sustainability-focused construction, modernization, and capital improvement projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all projects align with L ACCD's sustainability goals and bond program requirements . Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage sustainability projects in accordance with District and program policies. Ensure project planning aligns with the District’s sustainability goals and initiatives. Follow and execute the program’s Quality Management System. Develop and review contract documents. Plan, organize, and coordinate the performance of multiple construction projects. Identify project risks and develop effective risk mitigation plans. Document and report project data accurately and on time. Manage and execute 5 to 10 projects simultaneously, with values ranging from $1M to $30M each. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Oversee project closeout processes according to DSA and PMO/District protocols. Track and report the status of projects regarding construction schedules, cost control, and staffing. Inspect construction site offices to assess performance and legal compliance. Resolve construction-related disputes and provide outreach for college projects. Perform additional related duties as assigned. The Person To succeed in this role, you'll need: 5 years of experience managing multiple construction projects in a large capital improvement program . BA/BS in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management , or a related field. 2 years’ experience in Educational Facility Construction (preferred). Familiarity with the entire project life cycle , including master planning, design, construction, and closeout . Experience with alternative delivery methods and web-based project management systems . Knowledge of LEED-certified projects and/or Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) (preferred). Certification as a Professional Engineer or Architect in California (preferred). Certification as a Construction Manager (CCM) (preferred). Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
