Job Description: Hindu Priest (Pujari) Temple: Shirdi Sai Baba Temple/ Mohanji Center of Benevolence Location: Dugspur, Virgiia Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Role Overview We are seeking a devoted, knowledgeable, and compassionate Priest (Pujari) to join our temple. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing daily Vedic rituals, leading Shirdi Sai Baba’s signature Aartis, cleaning and providing spiritual guidance to our diverse community of devotees. This role requires a deep understanding of the life and teachings of Shirdi Sai Baba, along with basic understanding in traditional Hindu practices. Key Responsibilities Rituals & Worship: Perform daily Abhishekum, Archana, and Alankaram for Shirdi Sai Baba and other gurus and deities within the temple. The Four Aartis: Lead the four daily Aartis (Kakad, Madhyan, Dhoop, and Shej) with traditional melody and devotion. Devotee Engagement: Provide spiritual counseling, explain the significance of rituals, and offer Prasadam and Teertham to visitors. Temple Maintenance: Ensure the Sanctum Sanctorum (Garbhagriha) is kept pure, clean, and decorated appropriately according to the lunar calendar and festivals. Festival Coordination: Lead major celebrations such as Guru Purnima, Rama Navami, and Vijayadashami (Sai Punyatithi) etc. Qualifications & Requirements Language Skills: Fluency in English is a significant plus for communicating with devotees who come for the visit. Conduct: Must maintain a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle and adhere to the moral and ethical standards expected. Desired Attributes Attribute Description Empathy Ability to listen to devotees' concerns and offer Vedic solutions or prayers. Punctuality Strict adherence to the timing of daily rituals (especially Kakad Aarti). Cleanliness Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and ritual purity.
